Chesterton

Last week I changed the pace of work a bit and did a “motion graphics” video for Discovery Church . This happened entirely in final cut, because I’m not quite as proficient with anything else. Maybe someday…

The quote comes from GK Chesterton’s “Orthodoxy” and is one I have loved for a while now.

Paulo Clayton recorded the voice over, and I’m really happy with both how my voice over was actually able to be understood and how the video turned out overall.

The Showdown / Solid State Records

So in the process of getting a new site set up, I still do some work.

Like this for example.

I directed/edited/shot this last month. It was an incredible time and I got the chance to work with some friends I haven’t seen in a very long time.

Once I get the go ahead, I’ll get a full resolution version up as well as behind the scenes pictures and credits.

In the mean time, get stoked on that.

Stills

So last night I did a little shoot on a roof for the church I work for.

We shot on the 7D, and lit with some Home Depot lights.
I wasn’t expecting much, but we got some great shots out of it.

Here are a few I was really stoked on.

Veara!

Remember this?

The Veara video just released on Alt Press.

Check it out there, orrrrr right here!

The whole video was shot on the 7D in Upstate, South Carolina.

All in all it was a great experience, full of lots of sweat and good times. Veara is an awesome band and an awesome bunch of people.
Get into them!

Allow me to apologize

I’m sorry for not keeping you up to date with fresh web content.
However, I’m working to bring you a new and better web presence that looks rather different than this.

If you have tried to reach my vimeo account, it has been changed to vimeo.com/michaeldalton

and my twitter account is now twitter.com/michaelishustle

Please be patient with me as all of this happens. I’m sure you will, because you’re sooo cool.

Thanks!

Uncover The Color!

So Cole’s project has finally launched!
I’ve uploaded some stills and some video and will continue to do so until I am the richest man in the world….because that’s what its alllllll about.

You should learn more about Uncover The Color. By clicking on it there. Or here. Or here.

War of Ages!

So here is the newly released video for War of Ages,on Facedown Records, that I had the pleasure to Produce and DP with Director Drew Russ.

I came up with the concept based on a skate video I had seen, but I think Drew executed it well.

Shot on 2 7D’s with lenses from The Lens Depot in Canton, OH at Studio 62.
Lit with Flo Lights and White Diffusion.

I was super stoked on this project because I have been a fan of the band for several years. And being able do work with them doing something I’m passionate about was incredible.

and yes, clean up took a while.

Veara

This past weekend Drew Russ and I met up in the Upstate of South Carolina to shoot a video for Epitaph Record’s – Veara.

I won’t tell you much of the concept right now, or even much of what we did, but here are a few cell phone pictures from myself and some of the band.
I may even make an appearance in this video…

So keep your eyes peeled.
The album releases the 22nd of May and the video should follow almost immediately after.

Rap videos?

Remember this?

Well the final edit of the video is complete, and here it is!

Buried Alive (Director’s Cut) from Statewide on Vimeo.

I cam op’d this project on the 7D with Nick Ruff (Director), Angie Myers(AD) and Travis Blackwell(DP).

You can see by that previously released behind the scenes video and by these few BTS shots, that it was the party of a lifetime.

Straight outta Parramore!

Diviiiide the Seaaaa

So a few months ago my friends in Divide The Sea flew me up to gorgeous South Carolina to shoot a video for their song, “In Knowing, Triumph.”

I got to work with Dustin Simms, and Aaron Moller a bit which was awesome.

Aaron actually shot a behinds the scenes video of our 2nd night of shooting. Which you can see here.

All in all it was an awesome time hanging out with those dudes and doing what we all love.

Caleb’s lovely girlfriend Joanna took some stellar Behind the Scenes pictures, which you can see riiiiight here.

So all in all, it was awesome, and I’m really stoked on it because both the band and their label are stoked on it than I am. Score!

So without further ado, here it is!
